PRESS RELEASE

Crash Bandicoot is back and it’s all new in Crash Bandicoot ™ 4: It’s About Time ™. During Sony’s «State of Play» event, a brand new game mode was revealed that will be added to the game’s adventure: N.Verted mode, a mirror mode powered by Bumpa berries that allows players to traverse lands desolate Neon, old movie sets that increase game speed and other awesome new elements inspired by the world of Crash. But that is not all! More characters from the Crash Bandicoot ™ multiverse are returning, including Dingodile, who, poking his way through the crates, now becomes a new playable character. In addition, on October 2, 2020, several skins will be unlockable. PlayStation players will also be able to enjoy other additional skins when they reach the Dimension Map.

In creating this mind-blowing style of play of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, the main developer Toys for Bob teamed up with friends at Beenox to create the unique scenarios of this mode. Purposely called «N.Verted Mode», these strange levels take the concept of mirror mode and transport it into entirely new dimensions, offering players alternative perspectives, sound effects, music and, in some dimensions, further transformations of the experience. Players will be able to master each world by repeating N.Verted mode, earning Bumpa Berries instead of Wumpa Fruits, while also having the opportunity to rack up more rewards.

“This is the first new game in the Crash Bandicoot series in over a decade, so we felt it was important to introduce a new style of play,” said Paul Yan, Toys for Bob’s Chief Creative Officer and Co-Studio Head. collaborated with our friends at Beenox to develop the N.Verted mode, and they brought all their passion and expertise, the same that they put into Crash ™ Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. «

Crash and Coco will be joined by new playable characters at key points on their journey to save the multiverse. In addition to Neo Cortex, the beloved Dingodile, half dingo, half crocodile, also arrives as a playable character for the first time! After Crash Bandicoot: Warped, Dingodile hung his old rocket / flamethrower on the wall and retired from a life of evil. But now he’s back and has a job pending, descending from space and time into another dimension where his adventure to return home begins.

To further customize Crash, Toys for Bob reveals that there will be new skins for Crash and Coco that will be unlocked by earning Gems and completing challenges throughout the game. These brand new skins are fully accessory and offer bandicoots dozens of extravagant costumes and outfits to wear through the levels, adding an extra layer of craziness to the N. Sane from Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. From pirate outfits, spacesuits, unicorn onesies, to dinosaur scales and more – you’ll need great skills to unlock every skin in the game! Available first on PlayStation, there will be two additional sets of skins for Crash and Coco which will automatically be delivered after players complete the second level of the game and access the Dimension Map. These skins, called «Marsupus Erectus» and «Serious Upgrade», will be available on other platforms no earlier than December 31, 2021.

«Toys for Bob has gone to great lengths to make the classic franchise more modern, from creating visually stunning worlds, to creating a wide range of content and new ways to play, such as N.Verted mode and other playable characters,» said Michelle Bresaw, Activision’s Vice President of Product Management and Marketing. «We are confident this is the sequel fans have been waiting for, staying true to the franchise while delivering an entirely new experience.»
